Schools

Common Ground Mediation offers independent mediation to schools to resolve different kinds of disputes. While our core service is mediation between schools and/or education authorities and parents of children with additional support needs, we also have experience of assisting schools with other kinds of mediation, including:

  • Disagreements between schools and parents of children who do not have additional support needs
  • Disagreements between parents that are affecting children’s learning
  • Disagreements among staff members
  • Disagreements among pupils/students (link to peer mediation)

We can also offer training for teachers and colleagues on various topics including:

  • Introduction to mediation skills
  • Effective multi-agency meetings
  • Effective communication with parents
  • Dealing with difficult situations and conflict

Feedback from recent training delivered to teachers:

‘Thank you – really enjoyed the workshop – interesting and thought provoking.’
‘Very relevant to all aspects of our work. Will be of direct benefit/use.’
